Ryan was always talking about the need for respite care, but was concerned that it would be hard for a child and another family to develop a relationship where the child would be comfortable and the caregivers would understand that specific child's needs.
After their deaths, Becky(Kyle's former teacher), Mark, Tim, and Rosemary talked about a respite care house. Becky knew of an ideal respite care program in Colorado. We all met out there and spent two days learning about, and loving their program. We returned determined to establish such a home here.
Rosemary is a former teacher with 39 years of experience, and Becky has been a special needs teacher in the Beloit School District, also. Both have a wonderful love for all children and both are dedicated to this dream. Mark Dutter has former business experience and has extensive experience in start-up and operations of business.
We have received our 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. We have purchased a home at 1981 Luety Parkway in Beloit, WI and have renovated it to prepare the home for this cause. We have had tremendous support from the community and our list of volunteers and supporters grows by the day. We have started fund-raising and we have received extensive support from other foundations and businesses in the Rock County Area.
We are now open. Please call Rosemary Dutter for more information 608-289-7566.
